Собственно, Африканское мыло в условиях нашего континента изготовить самостоятельно нереально. Однако вариации на тему косметики из черного мыла имеют право быть. Благодаря нестандартному подходу к использованию средства, его полезные свойства можно приумножить в несколько раз.

1. Мыть голову можно не просто вспененным мылом с водой, а мультиконтинeнтальным эликсиром силы. Местные народные секреты можно объединить с магией Африки. Мыло можно вспенить охлажденным настоем или отваром из сухих цветов ромашки или календулы, листьев крапивы или дубовой коры. Отвар готовим из расчета на 1 л воды 2 ст. л. сухих растений.
2. С целью избавиться от черных точек и прыщей или подтянуть кожу, можно использовать мыльно-медовую маску. Кусочек мыла залить теплой водой, исходя из пропорции 1:2. Дать размокнуть 10 минут, вспенить. Добавить мед (ровно столько, чтобы образовалась густая паста). Смесь нанести на лицо, шею, зону декольте и на оставшееся тело. Подождать полчаса. Хорошо смыть теплой водичкой.
3. В мыльную пену добавить соль экстра. Умываться как скрабом.

Like all good white paint colors, White Dove is a complex blend of colors. It’s made up of many different colors and shades all blended together. The color mixture in White Dove has warm undertones.

“Does White Dove look yellow?”

In some lighting situations, it can (especially rooms with southern light exposure.) However, after painting the interior walls and trim in our home with White Dove, I actually noticed some fairly strong green undertones – specifically, in our south facing kitchen & dining room.

“Does White Dove look dingy?”

White Dove only looks “dingy” when paired next to a really bright white with cool undertones. This can make White Dove appear more off-white, and sometimes look a little dirty.

However, most of the time White Dove looks perfectly soft and subtle especially when golden natural light brings out the warm yellowish-green undertones. This creates a creamy, warm look.

In general, I really like the relaxing vibes the sunshine brings out in this paint color.

The bigger problem I had with White Dove was dealing with undertones when they turned green – a problem that I found was more pronounced under the LED lighting in our kitchen. In the end, I was able to tame the green by swapping out our LED lights for warmer ones. This seemed to be causing most of the problem.

When looking at the undertones for White Dove on Benjamin Moore’s site, if you click on ‘SHADES’, it will show you all the shades they offer from lightest to darkest.

As you can see in the image above, taking a paint color to its darkest shade makes undertones much easier to spot. Using this strategy gives you some easy undertone insight. It makes it apparent that White Dove has green undertones.

You can see a greenish hue in the dining room pictured below. It’s strongest in the shadows above the kitchen cabinets, and around the wood window trim.

(For reference, the shiplap on the island is also painted in White Dove. You can really see how the undertones show differently depending on the shadows/lights play off of it.)

The green undertones above the cabinets really bothered me, especially when the lights above the cabinets were on. To fix this, I simply swapped out the lights with brighter LED bulbs and it made all the difference!

1. Подготовьте два вместительных таза, в которые можно погрузить сразу несколько вещей. Или используйте раковину.
2. Емкости нужно наполнить водой на три четверти, соблюдая температуру примерно в 30 градусов. В более горячей жидкости одежда линяет.
3. В первом тазу полностью растворяется нужно моющее средство (из расчета 1-2 ч.л. на одно изделие).
4. Одежду помещают в воду и понемногу шевелят ею, чтобы избавить волокна от загрязнений. Постарайтесь хорошенько вспенить средство и действуйте так около 5 минут, пока материя не очистится.
5. Далее изделие вынимается, аккуратно отжимается и переносится в емкость с водой из крана. Выполаскивать нужно, энергично подымая и возвращая в жидкость, около 5 минут. Повторяйте действия, заменяя воду, пока она не станет чистой.
6. Изготовители не советуют выкручивать вещи. Оптимальным способом является избавление от влаги самотеком.
7. Сушить одежду лучше на горизонтальной поверхности или вешалке, а к помощи веревки прибегать как можно реже (она способствует неравномерному вытягиванию полотна).

Как и при какой температуре стирать в машине-автомате

Перед тем как закладывать одежду в барабан, ознакомьтесь с информацией на ярлыке и удостоверьтесь, что такой способ не испортит ее. Разобраться, как правильно стирать черное белье в машинке, помогут следующие рекомендации:

1. На незаметном участке проведите тест на линьку: смочите водой с изнаночной стороны и протрите его белой тканью. Если на ней останутся темные следы, значит, использованный краситель ненадежен.
2. Перед стиркой нужно запустить барабан для работы на холостом ходу примерно на 10 минут. Это действенный метод, который избавляет от образования катышек и распушивания ворсинок.
3. На любой одежде нужно застегнуть пуговицы и крючки, вывернуть ее наизнанку.
4. Барабан загружайте на 2/3. Так вы улучшите качество стирки, полоскания и отжима.
5. Стирайте темные вещи отдельно от цветных, даже если они не линяют.
6. Перед процессом изучите состав ткани и выбирайте режим, основываясь на этом. Специалисты не советуют для каких бы то ни было тканей выставлять температуру свыше 40 градусов.
7. Если вы обнаружили пятна, то воспользуйтесь неагрессивным пятновыводителем без хлора.
8. Сушите вещи естественным путем в затененном месте.

Tip #3: Use Color-Matching Resources

Did you know that the big hardware stores can color-match designer colors by just looking up the paint codes in their computers? They also have a color-scanning tool that can color-match based on a paint chip, or a small, flat slice of the color you want.

I usually start by showing up at my local Home Depot and asking the paint department if they can mix a sample of “__ color” by “__ paint line” in their Premium Plus Ultra paint. For most popular colors in common paint lines, they have formulas adjusted for Behr paint that are very close.

It’s not really possible to get an exact match, due to different paint formulations, but if it’s close enough to fool the eye, that’s fine with me.

I took these Behr versions of White Dove and Simply White and painted them next to my first round of swatches. They looked really similar, so I was fairly confident that I had a white wall color picked out. Want to guess what it was?

Neither. Surprise! Actually, I went back for Round 3 of samples and tried out a few Behr white paint colors.

I went back to the drawing board (or blue wall…) because I had discovered Silky White by Behr. I wanted a better contrast with my trim color, Behr’s Ultra Pure White, which the internet convinced me was the ultimate trim color.

Polar Bear was another contender for trim, so I grabbed that too. Here they are in contrast with BM White Dove:

IS WHITE DOVE A GOOD PAINT COLOR FOR CABINETS?

The Painting Details

Using these steps for painting a bathroom, we knocked this project out in a weekend and have been loving the bold transformation ever since.

I just love how the white board and batten contrasts so boldly next to the black paint. I can’t wait to see how this space will continue to transform over the next few weeks! My hope is to have an update next week and the full reveal soon after that!

Rookie Tip: If you did try to go bold  (or any color actually) and weren’t loving the look, did you know that Lowe’s offers a “Love Your Paint Guarantee“? If you’re not satisfied with the color, you can always bring back the extra paint in its original container (within 30 days of purchase) for a replacement color that you will love! That makes it a little less scary going bold with a paint color. If you don’t like it, bring it right on back to Lowe’s. Love that!

О чем важно помнить

Черное мыло – уникальный по своим свойствам и пользе продукт.

Тем не менее, выбирая его в качестве основного уходового средства, очень важно помнить о ряде правил:

• Не стоит использовать мыло для полной замены шампуня. Достаточно использовать состав 1-2 раза в неделю. В противном случае вместо желанного результата вы получите пересушенные волосы и перхоть.
• Не втирайте мыло в кожу слишком долго. Состав хорошо очищает поры, но при этом может пересушивать эпидермис. Достаточно массировать кожу 2-3 минуты, после чего смыть пену водой.

• Используйте для очищения кожи пену. Для этого мыло предварительно вспенивают в руках или с помощью специальной мягкой губки или мочалки. Это правило относится как к твердому, так и гелеобразному мылу.
• Помните о том, что африканское мыло является концентрированным продуктом. Именно поэтому использовать его нужно в умеренных количествах.

При этом, мыло идеально очищает и отшелушивает кожу, хотя никаких скрабирующих частиц здесь нет. Кожа становится нереально гладкой и отполированной. Хорошо «сглаживает» кератоз (гусиную кожу).

По поводу прыщиков — мыло отлично подсушивает прыщики на лице и на теле. У меня могут периодически выскакивать несколько прыщиков на спине, которые потом проходят месяцами. Так вот с этим мылом все прыщики прошли после нескольких «умываний» и больше не появлялись.

Также, я подсадила своего мч на это мыло и он теперь требует, чтобы я купила его ещё и ещё ))) Это успех! У него экзема и ему практически невозможно подобрать хорошее средство для душа, которое не сушило бы кожу и не ухудшало бы его экзему. Так вот, это мыло помогло с первого раза! Кожа стала мягкой, гладкой, мелкие ранки стали затягиваться и воспаление спало. Со временем, все ранки закрылись и на данный момент экзема в ремиссии, а старые пятна после заживления ранок начали светлеть.

По поводу использования на волосах — у меня на голове в дни Х иногда вылезают больнючие гормональные прыщики. Если я принимаю инозитол, то не вылезают, но если забываю или делаю перерыв, то они тут как тут. Поэтому я решила попробовать это мыло на голове. За одно применения прыщики уменьшились и перестали болеть! Сами волосы мягкие и послушные (бальзам не наносила).

Единственный минус, который я могу отметить, если уж совсем придираться, это то, что мыло довольно быстро заканчивается, несмотря на его размеры в полкило. Но с первым куском я сама накосячила и оставила его в душевой кабинке, где оно само по себе потихоньку подтаивало. Теперь же я отрезаю по чуть-чуть и держу его подальше от воды.
