ColourPop ZZZ Super Shock Shadow ($5.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a deep, coppery brown with warm, reddish-copper and copper shimmer over a metallic finish. It had rich color coverage that applied evenly and smoothly across my lid in a single layer. The texture was wetter than most of the Super Shock Shadows but consistent in the feel of the more metallic shades. I really appreciated that it didn’t sheer out too readily so I could get precision and coverage with brushes as well as fingertips. The edges blended out without much effort, even after it had dried down. It wore well for 10 hours without fading or creasing on me.

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow is a cream-based formula that comes in a multitude of shades and finishes. The more metallic shades have the most slip to them (they have a “wetter” feel), while the more matte ones have a firmer, more clay-like consistency. Almost every shade I’ve tried from ColourPop has been exceptionally long-wearing (10+ hours of wear, usually there until I remove, even 14 hours later). The pigmentation can vary from shade to shade, but the average shade is quite pigmented.
From feedback I’ve seen from readers, many love them but some don’t like them at all. They aren’t a traditional cream eyeshadow, as they are denser (more sponge-like), and they apply best with flat, firm, synthetic brushes (I like the MAC 242 and 249) for me. The brand recommends using fingers for the most pigmented application, but I’ve only felt that fingers were necessary on a few shades (usually the super glittery ones).
The more matte shades can be on the drier side and vary from medium to opaque in coverage, though they’re often buildable. They can be a little hard to diffuse the edges of, though some are lovely to work with.
The more glittery shades have been the weakest to me, as they can be sheerer or harder to apply. Sometimes, they are more pigmented and work like the other finishes in the formula, but often, they are sheerer and only function well patted on top of more pigmented eyeshadows to add glitter. Truly Madly Deeply Shadow Palette
Say hello to your new favorite neutral eyeshadow palette. Featuring 16 nude, peach, mauve, and champagne shades in satin, matte, and glitter finishes, this palette looks an awful lot like Huda Beauty’s The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette—only for a fraction of the price.
What really sets these shadows apart is their texture. While the satin and matte shades are particularly velvety, it’s the pressed glitter hues that really shine. According to the brand’s website, they’re made with self-adhering technology so that they’re less likely to flake off throughout wear. And as someone who has this palette in her arsenal, I can attest—these high-shine shades withstand the test of time. (Of course, applying a little eye primer never hurts.)
Like all eyeshadows, you can apply these pressed colors with brushes or your fingers. For major color pay-off, go with a flat, dense brush; for a dreamier wash, use a fluffy blending brush. And, when it comes to the glitter specifically, I personally like to apply it on top of a base shade using my ring or middle finger. That way, you can apply it exactly where you want it without any chance of fallout from blending.
Falling Up
ColourPop Falling Up Super Shock Shadow ($5.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a light, golden peach base with pink and blue glitters over a metallic sheen. It had semi-opaque pigmentation–a little more than it initially appeared in the swatch (more noticeable in the angled swatch)–that applied evenly to bare skin. The consistency was smooth, almost wet to the touch, but it was creamy and lightweight with a nice dry down–quick enough not to settle into creases but allowed me to play and diffuse the edges as it dried down. It lasted nicely for 10 hours with very little fallout over time but no creasing.

Out of any eyeshadow I’ve tried, this has quickly became my absolute favorite in my collection.Ritz was a shade that Mariah Leonard, one of my favorite influencers, recommended in one of her videos last year and since I love her style of makeup and a lot of her makeup recommendations, I knew that I was going to love this!Ritz has a sheer nude base with extra fine silver sparkle. This shadow will give you a glittery and glamorous look, without the extra time, mess, and dangers of using a pressed or loose glitter product. When you apply it to the lid on it’s own, it gives a very smooth, dimensional and an almost glossy look to the eye. Unlike a lot of other glitter products, this has very minimal fallout throughout the day. It’s such a versatile shade that can be worn alone for a more natural look or as a topper for any eyeshadow, since this has such a sheer base.Out of any shade on this list, I recommend Ritz the most!

THE LOOK
WeenieChilly Chili
Ignore the orange foundation! I was trying out a new combination and the color match was totally off. Doesn’t look too bad in photos but it was obvious in person. My brother was so nice and didn’t say anything mean but complimented that my skin looked nice, haha. Anyway, I used a pink cream eyeshadow under Sequin to give it a more rose gold appearance. I also used MUG Whimsical in the inner corners to enhance the pink tones along with Benefit Dandelion blush in the crease. On the lips is Colourpop Chilly Chili and an Etude House liquid lipstick. I forgot what the name of the Etude House lipstick but will look for it when I get home! Looks much more like the color I was wanting. So if you ever get a color you’re unhappy with, don’t throw it away but find something in your collection to tweak it. That’s the difficulties of purchasing online but I’m loving the results!
So that’s all I have for today! My initial thoughts on Colourpop are that if you love glittery eyeshadows or unconventional colors, it’s great place to start. I haven’t done cost breakdowns but expect that in upcoming reviews. However, I highly recommend looking up multiple swatches and to not trust the website’s studio photos. They appear much darker in person, as I belatedly discovered. Not sure if it’s because of different batches but still, quality control should have caught it.

In Detail ColourPop Telepathy Super Shock Eye Shadow Review, Swatches and My Experience
The eyeshadow comes in the classic super shock product packaging which has a small little white colour jar. It has a see through screw lid. The bottom label has details about the product. Screw lid ensures that we are able to shut it tightly since colourpop shadows in super shock formula tends to go dry if left open.
The texture of the CP super shock eyeshadow is like silk mousse. Its soft and buttery in true sense. In fact this amazing formula is why it applies so smooth and evenly. Pigmentation is again very intense and the shadow gives opaque coverage in a single swipe.
Normally gold eyeshadows tend to have an orange undertone. However Telepathy is this beautiful metallic gold with some olive green undertones. Definitely one of the most unique shades that I have seen in a budget brand. Colourpop says that it delivers the best results when tapped on with fingers. However personally I always use this with my brush and so far I have no complains. You just got to be precise while patting on the eyeshadow on the eyelids. Once you pat it on properly then blend around the edges to smoothen out everything.
Telepathy is pretty much an opaque shadow on its own however I have tried to layer it. In fact it layers pretty well too and intensifies the metallic look. Its easy to blend and I experienced no fall out. It does not crease or fade on my for 10+ hours which is a big thumbs up. Also I would like to emphasise the fact that this eyeshadow has a full on metallic finish and there are no noticeable glitters or shimmers at all.
Telepathy is one of those eyeshadows which every makeup lover needs to have in their collection. In fact I love tapping it on in the middle of my eyelids all the time because this gold compliments smokey eye looks so well. I love me a smokey eye look and I love gold. Hence this is pretty much going to go in my all time favourites list. In fact I am thinking of getting another one of this.

First of all, these pastel makeup sponges are precious. Round in all the right areas, not to mention incredibly soft, they look and feel like something that will offer a heavenly effect for makeup routines of all kinds. For this very reason, I decided to add the bundle of five sponges into my own routine.
As a tried-and-true beautyblender user, I was skeptical of them, which only made me love them even more once I wet them and put them to work.
Where the velvet blending sponge is great for creating a dewy, almost airbrushed finish, the pointed detail-blending sponge works like a charm under my eyes and around my nostrils to minimize creasing and expertly conceal. Then there’s the hourglass sponge. This uniquely-shaped makeup tool quickly became a fave for applying foundation, as I prefer lighter coverage, which helped bounce it on just right. Lastly, the two blending sponges—both feature a flat edge, and both work wonderfully for blending out any areas that look caked on.
Just remember: These work best with cream and liquid formulas, so if you’re a powder gal, they may not be worth clicking ‘Add to Bag.’ Unless, of course, you’re using their flat edges to press translucent powder into your face for the ultimate bake, in which case, have at it. And, speaking of translucent powder…

The Ultra Satin Lip and Ultra Matte Lips are packaged in the same kind of tube, which makes it a little difficult to tell them apart without reading the label. Which, honestly, I didn’t see too big an issue with. That is until I took them on a trip and them being in a makeup bag for a week…the labels began to wear off.
So…not even a month owning them and almost all the writing has disappeared, making it difficult to tell which is the Satin and which is the Matte. I tried to include the label in all the lip swatch pictures so that you can see how they’ve worn away. Personally, this is a con for me. It’s not a huge deal, in the grand scheme of things (like formula, lasting power, etc), but it is disappointing and something I wanted to point out.
Let’s move on to the swatches and reviews on the individual colors, starting first with the Lippie Stixs.
Hype Girl — The original matte formula, this one has a slight sheen to it and also gives a more moisturizer, lipstick-feel to it. Not patchy in the slightest, it stays on well until you eat or drink, then it starts to wear off. Easy to reapply, though.
Cami, Poppin’, Love Life, Back Up — The matte X formula is fantastic, love it more than the original matte! It looks very matte and after a few moments it sets onto your lips and doesn’t transfer when lightly touched. I wouldn’t give lots of kisses with it on, but I can drink and let my lips touch things lightly without it transferring. These are very comfortable to wear and don’t feel drying at all. (BTW, please excuse the Back Up lip swatch…it was the last one I did that day and is SO sloppy )
Botanical, Frick N Frack, Naked Ladies, & Lyin’ King — These remind me of the L’Oreal Pro Matte Glosses, but they’re thinner consistency. They go on very opaque, though, with just one swipe — except for Botanical. I would recommend a lip liner underneath to keep it from looking streaky. Another con that I don’t like about all these lip products are that the color it shows on the outside package does not match the actual color you get on your lips. Something to keep in mind, when ordering. They wear really well, though, lasting on the lips for hours. Even with eating, it will wear away slightly, but still stick around. And you can reapply without any issues and it’ll look just as good.
Donut, Bumble, Tulle — These are also very thin in consistency, but just as opaque as the Satins. They don’t take long to set on your lips, and once that happens they don’t budge. They do begin to wear away once you start eating, but mostly just in the inner part of my lips, where the most moisture hits. They layer pretty well, as long as you only focus the additional product on the spot that is fading. If you put to much on top of product already on, it can tend to start feeling thick and ‘goopy’.
What are my overall thoughts? I think they’re really affordable, that’s for sure. And the quality is pretty great. I don’t like the similar packaging and another con I noticed is that the formula inside the Ultra Satin Lip and Ultra Matte Lip separate once they sit for a couple days. When I shake it up, it’ll mix back together, but I have a feeling it will start to turn bad sooner than my other liquid lipsticks.
Do I recommend these? I do. I really recommend the Matte X Lippie Stix. It’s a fantastic formula and I still can not get over how transfer-proof they are for a lipstick bullet. That’s $5 very well spent in my book, and the next time I order from ColourPop I will definitely be getting more. The Ultra Satin Lips I like, and might get one or two more shades. The Ultra Matte Lips…I will enjoy the three I purchased, but I probably won’t get any more. If I want to buy more matte longwear lipsticks from ColourPop, I’d opt to just buy the Matte X Lippie Stixs.
I hope this review helps you decide if you need any ColourPop lip products! I purposely put the cons in bold text to point them out. Because I feel like you can go anywhere to hear the positives about these products, but the negatives are a bit harder to find. Not to be mean or negative to the brand — I am thoroughly enjoying my products! — but I want to inform you about all the aspects of these products!
