Inside the palette are twelve shades that are very light in colour, with a peachy pink theme before you reach the pops of cyber colours and weirdly a rust orange red shade that does look completely out of place. The palette is based around the duo chromes however there are just two duo chrome shades.

Housed in a crimson compact that comes with a full-size mirror and double-sided brush, this Urban Decay palette is probably one of the prettiest we’ve ever come across. It offers 12 shades that include soft mattes, metallics, creamy ivory, shimmery coppers and plums, and an intense black cherry.

Is it for you?

By all accounts, this is yet another quality eyeshadow palette that’s highly pigmented and blendable with commendable longevity.

While the darker colours can be a little bold for some, the line-up has a good mix of cherry-hued neutrals and sultry shades that you can easily create an everyday look or a glamorous finish, sans fallout.

Urban Decay Naked Reloaded Eyeshadow Palette

Anyone can own the gorgeous shades on Urban Decay’s Naked Reloaded Eyeshadow Palette! It contains 12 peachy-brown hues with textures that range from silky mattes to microfine shimmers – a warm complement to all skin tones.

Is it for you?

For reddish-brown shades that are more wearable, this palette might be a better choice than the Urban Decay Naked Heat Eyeshadow Palette. The colours are better suited for everyday wear, and you can easily layer on the shimmer hues to create glamorous evening looks too.

Take note, however, that the formula is on the dry side – it’s best to use a primer as a base to ensure that your eye makeup stays vibrant throughout the day. The palette doesn’t come with a brush either – hence, the more affordable price tag.

Naked Cyber: The Packaging

I actually think this is my favourite packaging from all the Urban Decay Naked palettes, with the Ultraviolet coming a close second. I really do like how much thought and effort goes into the cases and they are so much better than the original Naked palette, or the tins like Naked 2 and Naked 3. As with all recent past cases, they are sturdy plastic, with an internal mirror and the Urban Decay dual ended brush that I have honestly never ever used in my entire life. The outer design looks like a soldered circuit board on pastel iridescent hues that catch the light. It’s really fun and fits in so well with the cyber theme.

Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette

This OG Naked Eyeshadow Palette was discontinued in 2018 – but because it’s the most iconic Urban Decay palette since it was launched in 2010, plus the gamer-changer for nude eyeshadow palettes in the beauty industry, we have to introduce this palette on our list.

When it first came out, the full-sized, 12-shade eyeshadow palette included a double-ended eyeliner pencil. Later, the brand added a classic primer portion to the mix of shades – so users could have the perfect prep before layering the eyeshadows onto their lids.

It’s no surprise that beauty aficionados mourned when the Naked Eyeshadow Palette was discontinued. However, one thing we can be happy about is that the death of the OG palette has been followed by so many more arresting Naked creations – stick around and you won’t be disappointed!

The Naked journey

Launched 9 years ago, in 2010, I was interested to know what the motive was for Urban Decay to create this cult palette in a landscape that was all about the single pot eyeshadows at the time.

«The idea for our original Naked palette came from a brainstorm I had with my product development team,» explained Wende Zomnir, Founding Partner of Urban Decay. «We were sitting around and were like well, if you had to take four eyeshadow shades to a desert island, what would those eyeshadow shades be? And we threw them on the table and they actually made a beautiful palette.»

The palette reached stratospheric levels of popularity pretty instantly, re-defining the world of eyeshadow in 12 shades. In fact, it was so successful that even attracted celebrities fans like . Praise indeed.

And it didn’t take long for the brand to catch on to just how major the Naked franchise could become. Soon, the idea of what a ‘naked’ or ‘nude’ shade was expanded, with the introduction of Naked2, a cooler toned option, and then Naked3, a rosy take on the original.

The mix of matte, shimmer and metallic shades in each palette mean that—although it might look overwhelming at first—these palettes are actually a great option for eyeshadow newbies. The shades range from lightest to darkest and keeping within a neutral colour palette means there’s no risk of veering off trend with your colour selection.

After that, there was really no stopping UD. Spin-offs started popping up each year, with launches such as Naked Smoky, Naked Cherry, Naked Basics, and my personal favourite: Naked Heat (which was, FYI, the biggest beauty product launch of 2017 — it sold out in under 4 hours).

In 2018, Urban Decay made the brave decision to cut ties with the original Naked Palette by discontinuing their beloved bestseller. It had on sale.

A tongue-in-cheek statement was released by the brand, which prompted most beauty fans around the world to go into mourning:

«Today, the beauty world mourns Urban Decay’s beloved Naked Palette, the product that revolutionized neutral eyeshadows,» the statement read.

«A little bit naughty, often dramatic, and always in the press, the innovative game-changer and category creator will be laid to rest after eight years, without a smudge of regret. Passionate Naked collectors — and pretty much anyone with eyes — will remember Naked as the beauty product that changed their lids forever. It was beautiful and mythical and millions of superfans, from misfits to moms to models, will miss Naked from Virgin to Gunmetal.»

However, despite the original palette no longer being available, the Naked franchise is in fact bigger than ever, with its other eyeshadows still available (there are 9 palettes to date, excluding the limited editions), and a new ‘Naked Reloaded’ option out on the market too.

With the exotic snakeskin design (don’t worry, it’s vegan!) and bronze detailing, this 2021-released Urban Decay palette certainly keeps with the “Wild West” theme.

It houses a line-up of 12 flattering shades that include soft beiges, rich terracotta browns, deep coppers, burnt oranges, as well as an unexpected pop of blue and turquoise.
